At the northern tip of the island is the largest nature reserve on the island, the Washington-Slagbaai National Park. Here houses hundreds of species of birds and other wildlife and you can meet in a fantastic way with the flora and fauna of the island.
Just before the Kralendijk's seafront promenade is a half hour boat ride to the nature island "Klein Bonaire". This piece of untouched nature is ideal for walking on, picnic or for lovers, scuba diving (and snorkelling), it is surrounded by the most excellent diving and snorkeling spots.
Recommendation: The Salt Lake saltpans
The salt mining has historically been one of the first and most important sources of income for the former inhabitants of the island.
These salt pans also house large quantities Flamingos here feast on shrimp and small crustaceans that are located in the shallow water.
