Hi Louise,
Just a quick note to thank you again for the warm hospitality at our recent stay at HHH in Bonaire. We had a delightful time diving and exploring; and our comfortable apartment made a great home base. My wife enjoyed running daily out on the scenic road to the south. Internet connection was great. We'll see you again on our next trip!

We have just returned from Bonaire. Our stay at Happy Holiday Homes was wonderful. Louise is very friendly, makes you feel right at home. The bungalow was very clean and homey. It is very convenient to all southside shore diving and only a few minutes from other shore diving as well. It was equipped with a private patio where gear could be hung out to dry after being cleaned in fresh water on the patio. We will stay here on any future trips to Bonaire. This was my third trip and the second to stay at Happy Holiday Homes. It is so nice to be able to cook some the meals as well as eat out when we chose. They get 5 stars from us.

Very nice new website Louise and Mel. Well done.

We have stayed at Happy Holiday Homes for the past two years and are very excited about returning again this year. The villa is very clean and comfortable, the location cannot get any better, and Louise and Mel are so welcoming that we feel like we are returning home each time we are lucky enough to come back to the beautiful island of Bonaire. Counting the days till we can be there again! :-)
Ed Bray: Edinboro, Pennsylvania
Hello to all who have visited this wonderful location on this beautiful island. We vacationed here several years ago and have really missed diving the many reefs just offshore. We look forward to once again taking up residence for two weeks in 2005 and perhaps meeting others who have stayed here before as well.
Jenn DeBose: Davis, CA USA
We just got back from Bonaire. We stayed 3 weeks, and during that time were reminded over and over how happy we were staying at HHH. The convenience of having our own patio, kitchen, and privacy was a notable advantage! And Louise, Mel, the donkeys, etc. were very hospitable and friendly. We will definitely stay with Louise and Mel our next time down.
Robbie & Bob Revel: Woodland Hills, California
Happy Holiday Homes has been our home away from home for every summer since 1997. We love the quiet island ambiance with the occasional donkey wake-up call in the morning. The accommodations are excellent and geared to divers and wind surfers. Louise, Kitty and Mel are the perfect island hosts, catering to everyone's needs while providing privacy and security. We're counting down the days (256 to go) until our next HHH visit.

Well, we just came back from our 5th trip to Bonaire and our 4th that we have stayed at HHH. As usual, staying at HHH made our experience much better. The friendly welcome by Louise and everybody else there is great. You really feel at home. I don't think I have ever seen a hotel cleaner .... in fact, I would like very much have my house this clean! This year we brought my brother and his wife who live in Switzerland and they loved too. Thank you Louise for your hospitality and for adding to the pleasure of our Bonaire vacation. See you next year..... Victoria and Carlos

Hello, We visited HHH in November 2004. Very nice accommodation with peace and quiet, not too far from Kralendijk and the beaches. Need a car though! Clean apartment with kitchen and nice staff. I can recommend HHH. :D

Wow, what a great web page!! It looks fantastic. My family and I stayed at HHH last December during our first trip to Bonaire. What a wonderful place indeed. Clean, modern, and everyone so friendly. Louise is like having a good friend as your personal travel agent. We are going to Bonaire again in just a few days!! We have 2 little girls, 5 and 7, and they were sad when we had to say good-bye to Louise and Mel last year. They, as are we, are looking forward to spending some more wonderful time at HHH in Bonaire.
Great place to stay if you plan to go dive in Bonaire! The bungalows are nice, clean, and come equiped with large rinse tanks and racks for easy overnight storage of your dive gear. The owners are very friendly and will go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable. A quick drive from all the southern dive sites, HHH is definitely tailored for divers and a great base for your exploration of Bonaire's amazing reefs!
Bert and Joanne Mulder: New Jersey, USA
We had a great time on Bonaire and HHH was definitely a major contributing factor. Our home was spotless and everything was in working order. Louise was very friendly and helpful with any requests we had. Thank you so much - we definitely will be back.

Once again we had a great time in Bonaire and we were happy to be at the right place during Christmas and New Year 2004. It is worth to stay at Happy Holiday Homes.

We have stayed at Happy Holiday Homes 9 times and look forward to another visit this spring. Louise, Kitty and Mel are so friendly and helpful. Louise gets our rental car at a great price and also stocks the fridge before our arrival. The place is so clean and we notice upgrades almost every trip. Everything is always in working order and we can not think of a way Happy Holiday Homes could make our stay more enjoyable.
Teemu Heikkonen: Helsinki, Finland
We visited HHH in February 2005 and were very pleased with the accommodation! Everything was in perfect condition, our apartment was clean and the surroundings were peaceful & quiet. Thank you Louise, Kitty & Mel for your hospitality. You all were so friendly, arranged our rental car, helped finding best places to eat out etc. Great job! We definitely will be back! BR, Teemu

We stayed at HHH in May 2005 during our first trip to Bonaire. The website doesn't do justice to the peace and quiet, cleanliness, convenience and hospitality that will bring us back to HHH during our next Bonaire trip. The bungalows are especially set up for divers, were very comfortable and clean, and everything worked. Louise got us great rates on diving and rental car and both her and Mel were very helpful to us first time visitors. Thanks Mel and Louise for our best vacation ever, we look very forward to coming back! :-)

;-) My visit to Bonaire was made most pleasant by my stay at Happy Holiday Homes in May-June 2005. Louise is a gracious hostess with intimate knowledge of Bonaire life and culture. Thank you Louise and Mel

Bungalow are in state like new, always very clean. actually you do not need to look for somewhere to stay in Bonaire... It is correctly priced compare to some other places. We already cannot wait to come over :D

Five colleagues and I stayed at Happy Holiday Homes during the first half of November. We were conducting research on Bonaire, with the group affiliated with either the Smithsonian Institution or Conservation International in the US. The bungalows were very well appointed for diving (which we did every day), and in our cases for related activities associated with our research (including Internet access). They also were extremely comfortable. However, perhaps the best part was the staff of Happy Holiday Homes. Louise and her colleagues went out of their ways to make us comfortable and feel welcome, and absolutely no request or need was left unattended. Our trip went very well, and part of the uniformly positive experience is because of Happy Holiday Homes. I would recommend it without hesitation, to divers and non-divers alike.

We've been staying at HHH for many years, so guess that should tell you a few things. Louise, Kitty and Mel are wonderful people, always friendly and extremely helpful in any circumstance. Louise will even find a doctor for you in case you might have broken your foot! Of all our years here at HHH, it's always in top notch condition, never run down, always CLEAN from the inside of the apartments to the outside patios. We're headed back again in 2006 and will be at HHH once again. There's also a plus when you get to meet wonderful neighbors and gain new friends from all over the world. Now that I've told you all the good stuff about HHH, we would like to keep it a secret so we will always have a place to stay when we're in Bonaire....big smile! Gail

Happy Holidays Homes is the best place to stay while on Bonaire. This was our second trip to the island, and we prefer HHH because it is quiet, immaculate and most comfortable. The landscaping is beautiful which offers privacy from the unit next to you, not to mention the lovely birds that sing. It definitely caters to scuba divers and windsurfers with their outdoor cleanup area, clothes lines and locked closet for your equipment. Also, the kitchen is a blessing. We went grocery shopping for breakfast and lunch and out for dinner to various excellent restaurants. You can make breakfast at your leisure, go for a dive, back for a relaxing lunch and then take off for an afternoon dive. Louise arranged a rental truck for us at a very reasonable rate which was waiting for us at the airport. HHH is a five-minute drive from the Flamingo Airport which was a plus after the long flight. Louise, Kitty and Mel are there to answer any questions and have always taken great care of us. We will definitely be back. Thanks! Ronda & Mark

Mel, Louise and Kitty offer one of the nicest places to stay in Bonaire. So nice that I have stayed there for 13 years in a row. They are wonderful people and are like family to us. As they say, very nice accomodations, clean, safe and close to everything, except the park on the far end of the island. If you are looking for a place to stay, look no further, this is the best. BTW they have a lot of fellow windsurfers stay there too. Dave

This was the 5th time we spent our vacation in Bonaire in HHH. In our RED HOUSE we had again a beautiful time. Windsurfing and snorkeling help us to enjoy the stay. We thank you again Louise, Kitty, Mel and Evert!! Fran

This was our second visit to Bonaire but the first time staying at HHH. We LOVED IT!!!!!! It is a great place with everything you need to make you feel like you are home, a true home away from home.It is so set up for scuba divers. Please give it a try when you are making your plans to travel to Bonaire, you will not be disappointed.

HHH rooms are cheap, quiet, very clean and tidy inside and out, up to date appliances, large living spaces inside & outside, centrally located and very friendly management. The modern ceiling type air conditioning was adequate for sleeping and the natual breezes with ceiling fans kept things cool most times, they were not powerful enough to keep the cooking heat at bay. More reading lamps are needed. While there we looked at 7 different apartment/condo type complexes all were at least $100 more per night for the no view rooms and no where near as spacious or detailed. No tiki bar or house parties we woke to birds every morning. Driving up you notice the white gravel walled complex, well identified, and everything is freshly painted (buddy dive looked run down by comparison). Each apartment (you park in front of apartment) has it's own courtyard separated enclosed by a shoulder high chain link fence, overhanging roofline to sunprotect. Each courtyard is beautifully landscaped providing privacy screening. All have outdoor poly table and chairs a lockable closet for dive equip. rinsing basins next to spigot and dry hooks. Solid Steel door,Screen Door inside all white tile 15x15 main living, alleyway kitchen to back door. Kitchen table & chairs couch & table side lights, opposite tv & phone and book rack. Bathroom spotless, faucets new stand up walled shower, hot water good. Kitchen has gas stove and oven. Every other complex we viewed had electric hotplate tops and NO oven. Huge positive for me as we cooked in several nights (read saved $$$$$). Full family size fridge and Microwave and all pots pans etc. Kitty & Evert were there when you wanted them but very respectful of your privacy.

We were so happy when we arrived! HHH is in a quiet location, and It was extremely clean!! What a great value for your money. For diving it has to be one of the best places to stay on the island. HHH has very convenient places to soak and dry your gear. We loved it!! We will definitely stay again.

Recently we returned home to Indiana after our SEVENTH consecutive winter vacation at HAPPY HOLIDAY HOMES. That in itself should speak volumes for this Bonaire resort. Convenience, comfort, and cleanliness are the words that immediately come to mind when one thinks of HHH. The resort is conveniently located south of town, close to some of the best shore dives on the island. The exceptional comfort of the bungalows cannot be overlooked. They are all well-built and designed with the needs of guests in mind. Comfortably furnished and aesthetically tiled throughout, the bungalows have all the necessities--down to cable TV, a coffee maker, and toaster. A roomy refrigerator will accommodate all of your purchases at the downtown supermarket. Bungalows are kept squeaky clean, and towels and linen are changed on a regular basis. All of this is topped off by a friendly and professional staff that is always there to serve the guests. This is why we highly and enthusiastically recommend staying with Louise and her staff at HHH. When you are on vacation in the Caribbean, it is truly a home away from home. Zina and Dimitri Breschinsky West Lafayette, IN USA

Don & I would just like to say "Thank You" to Louise and Mel for the best stay on Bonaire possible. Our accomodations were excellent from the neatness of our kitchen to the spotless bathrooms. The movie channels were a plus from a long day of windsurfing, we were glad to just stay in. I personally would reccomend this property to anyone for family's or singles. Sincerely, Amy & Don

I have stayed at Happy Holiday Homes several years in a row and have always had a wonderful experience. Accomodations are clean, well designed, and meticulously maintained. Any issues or concerns are immediately addressed. The location is quiet and secure. Louise, Kitty and Mel have a wonderful attitude and their pride in Happy Holiday Homes is evident in many ways. Thank you for a terrific stay.

Dan, Terry, and I would like to say thanks again for a relaxing week on Bonaire. We had a 2 bedroom apartment, full kitchen, and very clean. Very safe, left doors open during the day when we where diving. The apartment was very clean, and for divers there are 2 large rinse buckets, outdoor hanging hooks for gear to drip dry. As for location- 3 minutes to Hima Hooker and then same to airport. As for windsurfers, the closest lodging to surfing sites. Outdoors you have a private patio with tropical plants, many birds coming around, which I had over 12 at a time when I fed them oranges on the fence. Louise and Mel, thanks again for our 6th trip to Happy Holiday Homes. Brian
Lori Pottinger: USA
We had a great stay at Louise's HHH. The place is very comfortable, well cared for, and close to great diving! Very quiet too. Clearly a good value for what you get. It's also nice to be able to wash and store your dive gear at your apartment. We will return!
Robert and Joan Tyson: USA
This was our first trip to Bonaire and we had a wonderful time snorkeling mornings and afternoons. HHH was an ideal place to stay. It is 10 mins from town and 10 mins to the southern snorkel/dive sites. Our apt was very comfortable with bedroom a/c, kitchen, and a deck with table and chairs for meals 'al fresco'. Louise is a very gracious hostess and directed us to good restaurants and snorkeling locations. HHH fulfilled all our needs for a quiet, economical, and comfortable place to stay.

This is our 2nd stay at HHH and again we are very happy with our choice. Louise and Kitty run a nice operation with their rentals. The homes are spacious and very clean and very functional. The safe makes it nice to know your passports and airline tickets are secure while you are here. The internet connection is a nice touch if you bring along your laptop. In fact, we are still sitting here in our cottage as I type this review. The food package that you can order ahead is a nice touch as well. For divers - the rinse buckets, hose and drying racks are very convenient for clean up after diving located right outside on your patio in your front garden. Photo tours/yellow submarine shops that HHH books for all your dive needs have been very friendly and helpful. Next time, we'll be bringing our children and grandchildren and stay in one of the larger cottages. They will enjoy sitting on the patio watching all the birds and lizards. Thank you Kitty and HHH.
Daria and George Faber: USA
We can't wait to return to Bonaire and, of course, stay at Happy Holiday Homes. Our unit was spotless and including everything we needed to make ourselves at home. We liked the convenience of being able to cook if we wanted to, however, all of the restaurants were great...the big decision for the evening was what did we want to eat? Our hostess, Louise, was very helpful to provide information about the island and answer our questions. Pick Happy Holiday Homes as the price is right, the location is close to the airport, and we loved staying there. Daria & George Faber

We returned to Happy Holiday Homes June 29

I just returned from my fourth stay at HHH. Have been places like Buddy's with the local dive club, but when the accommodations are my choice I always return to HHH. I love the way the bungalows are laid out for divers - only a few steps from the truck to the gear wash area, great storage, two rinse tubs, multiple gear hanging posts, and a lockable dive equipment closet. The accomodations inside are also great, always thoroughly clean and furnished comfortably. The full kitchen is also great. The best thing is that you always know what to expect and everything is in good working order. Louise, Mel, Kitty, and Evert are great hosts and do everything to ensure your stay is pleasant and your questions are answered. I thoroughly enjoyed my fourth trip to HHH and am looking forward to many more in the future.
Daniel & Gladeline: Puerto Rico
Once again we were in paradise! Thanks to Happy Holiday Homes for their service. Beautiful and clean bungalows, everything was right upon arrival -groceries, car rental & equipment too. Bonaire is the best location for diving and Happy Holiday Homes makes it even better. This time we shared our time between scuba and work for my thesis... visited new dive sites and restaurants. We highly recommend you to visit Bonaire soon... looking forward to our return!!!
Denny & Cheryl Daniels: USA
We just recently returned from our first dive trip to Bonaire (Aug 24 - Sep 1) and first stay at Happy Holiday Homes. We were very happy with our stay. The apartments were everything you would want or need and a great value. Louise was very friendly and helpful with all of our questions. The apartments were very clean and comfortable and the arrangements for diving couldn't have been better. It was only a few shorts steps from our parking spot to unload our gear to large washtubs right outside the back of each place. There was a locked dive storage closet provided and plenty of pegs and clotheslines to dry things out to get ready for the next dive. The diving was great so we'll back for another stay at HHH soon.
Hans and Sofia Ohnell: Sweden
Thank you for a nice stay in Bonaire! We must say that the apartment was much larger than we could ever hope for and the service was excelent. We can really recommend the HHH if you are going to Bonaire. Close to the airport without the noise problem and in a nice, quiet neighbourhood. Very close to the good divesites in the south as well. /Hans and Sofia

We spent a week at HHH in October 2007, after hearing very good things from some friends. After arriving at 5 AM on the CON redeye, Louise greeted us in the driveway, showed us to our bungalow and made us rest up before coming to the office. Louise, Mel, and Kitty were very pleasant and helpful during our stay. The accommodations were very nice, the location was easy to get to and quiet. If you're looking for a place away from the resort bustle, HHH is perfect. Good value for the money!
Heather: USA
We chose to stay at HHH after reading various online reviews. We were actually expecting more of a "hotel"-like atmosphere, so having our own bungalow and our privacy was a pleasant surprise. The bungalows were clean and spacious, and having our own kitchen and a place to clean and store our dive gear was great. If we head back to Bonaire, we definately will stay at HHH again. Great location, great owners, great price . . . Just some advice, however -- If you are a couple, you might want to make sure you request a full bed.
Dan & Tere Foley: USA
This was our second visit to Bonaire and our second time at HHH. This time we stayed at the seaside apartment which turned out to be a 2 dedroom house right on the water with direct access to the water. The extra cost was well worth it. We had complete privacy, a patio overlooking the water, private parking, a wonderful kitchen, dining and living room. There was even cable TV. We don't think we'll ever be able to find another location as ideal as this.
Derek Evanson: USA
After having co-ordinated a second dive club trip of 15+ divers to Bonaire and HHH I can recommend them highly. Excellent value, friendly accommodating people, and comfortable bungalows make for a great place to stay. The bungalows provide lots of flexibility for groups and most of us got lots of use out of the kitchens. I really liked arriving to a fridge and pantry stocked with essentials, being able to have coffee and a bit of breakfast before diving, and a place to clean and dry dive gear that was 10

We had a great time in Bonaire as always. Louise and Kitty where fantastic. Very help full in all our needs. We loved our apartment. It was spacious, clean and we enjoyed sitting on our patio and watching the birds and lizards. We can't wait to go back. Jackie and Randy

We had a simply wonderful time in Bonaire and comfortable, relaxing stay at Happy Holiday Homes which was everything that we had hoped for. We look forward to returning next year for more of the same great pleasures around the island and at our "happy home" away from home. Fritz and Victoria.

We loved Happy Holiday Homes now as much as we love Bonaire. This property had exactly what we needed for our vacation - comfort, space, beauty, quiet, and wonderful people. The rooms are spacious, clean, and perfect for relaxing. The front patio was filled with beautiful flowering shrubs - great to sit outside and read and enjoy the end of a busy diving day. We felt our inner clocks wind down from the hectic pace of life in the USA for nine days and we can't wait to go back. Thanks Louise, Mel, Kitty, and Evert. You helped us have a wonderful time. See you next year. Suzanne and Clay

Great accommodations for a restful, laid back vacation. Louise, Kitty, Evert and Mel all very helpful. We are boardsailors and found the location great with easy, direct access to Lac Bay and the Windsurfing Place where we sailed. Easy access to town, but also nice to be able to cook and eat in part of the time. Overall a great 2 weeks.

We just spent the most relaxing, wonderful dive vacation so far on Bonaire. HHH is just what we have been looking for in a home away from home. Being able to drive up to your cottage, dump your dive equipment into your own cleaning tanks and hanging it out on hooks to dry outside your own cottage was just Perfect! HHH is close to all the southern dive spots that we love to dive. The cottages were furnished perfect again for what we needed and wanted. We enjoyed going to the grocery stores and doing our own cooking and then coming "home" to eat and enjoy the patio. The area is landscaped beautifully for all to enjoy the local wildlife. It is a small, quiet, lovely set up with Kitty and Evert answering all our questions and taking care of us all week long. HHH will be our choice when we return to Bonaire.
Jack Thompson: USA
What perfect accomodations and service for our stay on Bonaire! Evert and Kitty were very helpful in answering questions and pointing us in the right direction during our stay on the island, and the location was just perfect - literally just minutes away from some of our favorite dive sites, dive shops, the grocery store, downtown, the airport, and more. It was very clean and comfortable, and the kitchen, complete with stove top, oven, micorowave, cookware, etc. enabled us to have almost all of our meals at home. We were even able to catch a couple of the Celtic/Lakers games on the satellite TV! :-) Go Celtics! The special features HHH provides for divers and their equipment were especially convenient and secure! It added significantly to the relaxing peace of mind that embodies everything Bonaire represents! Great spot!!!

We are going back to Happy Holiday Homes for the third time, in Feb 2010. Our first visit was April 2007, our second visit, October 2008 (During Tropical storm Omar!) HHH apartments are clean, modern, spacious, well furnished. Everything in good order and works well. Very comfortable, safe, quiet, more like a nice residential area, not surrounded by businesses or traffic. Convenient to dive sites in the south. Can park outside your apartment. Louise, Kitty and Evert are great people. We prefer to cook our own food and eat in. I think there is a restaurant within a short walk. Main shopping and restaurants about a 10 minute drive. Swimming beach across from airport (ATM at airport), maybe 5 minute drive. We are divers, don't need a pool after we come back from diving. Can watch sunsets over the field to the west or at end of street, 3 minute walk. We pick up air tanks at Dive Friends Bonaire, less than 5 minute drive. Lovely garden, patio, satellite TV, wireless internet! Happy Holiday Homes has it all.
Casey Danielson: USA
Read what others have said before - it's all true. This was our second trip to Bonaire and on the last day of our first trip we inspected a number of locations on the Island. The reasons we chose HHH for our return were convenience, spaciousness and value. You can park at your pickup right at your door where you can also rinse/hang gear. There's outside storage you can lock. We had a large 2BR with full kitchen. Louise arranged truck rental with Budget and dive packages with Dive Friends - both at rates better than I found myself. Your vacation is important to the folks at HHH - and it shows. Thanks Louise, everything was great! Casey

We stayed at Happy Holiday Homes for 5 weeks, starting in January, 2009. We thought the unit was very well-furnished and clean. It had everything we could want and was quiet and private. We especially appreciate Louise/Kitty/all for their always being prompt and helpful with any issues we had. It is obvious that they take great pride and care with their units and are onsite, which makes a big difference. Thanks, Happy Holiday Homes for helping to make our Bonaire stay very pleasant!!!

Hi Mel and Louise, Avert and Kitty, Ronda and Lander excited to be coming and see you again. For the first time in 15 years I will not be coming and staying with you. I really miss seeing you, being on the island and enjoying windsurfing. HHH is like home and I can't believe I'm not there. Dave

For all you CCR fans; Just got back from Bonaire, Don't like this cold air, Look at all the crazy people standing in the cold, Snow plows and ice glare, Don't want to be here, Do,do,do.. take me back to Bonaire. Our second visit in two years (3rd overall) and since we're not divers and Bonaire is such a small island, it takes something special to bring us back. It's the oceanside rental and the folks at HHH that do it for us. Two weeks of pure relaxation, swimming, snorkeling and lunches out make for a perfect trip. I couldn't see going back if HHH wasn't so perfect. Louise stocked the fridge for us so we could just relax Sunday morning after a late arrival Saturday. Little things like that separate HHH from the rest of the pack

We stayed at Happy Holiday Homes January 3-10, 2010. It was a tidy, safe place in the perfect location; close to snorkeling and the grocery stores in the mornings, a short drive to windsurfing in the afternoons. We cooked and ate all our meals in the apartment; it had everything we needed. We were very comfortable. Thank you, Louise and Kitty.
AH Kautz: Canada
I stayed at Happy Holiday Homes Nov 7 - 14, 2009. The apartment was spotless, the location perfect and Louise was great to deal with. It is a great location for divers as parking is right at the door with a private rinse station only steps away. Thanks Louise

Just wanted to say thanks to Louise and HHH. You made are stay very enjoyable. Stayed at a few other resorts on the island. But when I go back it will be with HHH again. Very nice and spacious apartments.

My husband, daughter and I arrived last Sat. 2/13/10 to Bonaire for our fourth visit. We had to abandon our initial place as they had no hot water and no plans to have any in the future! We knew there were nearly no rooms left on the island as it was holiday time. We wandered around and were so blessed to have stumbled into Louse's office. She explained that she happened to have something available due to a cancellation and she showed it to us. Well, we cannot say enough about the apartment. It was truly perfection for us, especially as divers. The apartment was immaculate, spacious and inviting. The kitchen has all you would need as we cook most of our meals. The A/C units work great though we only used them once in a while, as the unit was very breezy. The beds were comfy and there was lots of room for we ladies who tend to over pack! Best of all the shower was excellent and always hot. We had a huge dining room and lots of windows everywhere. Cable TV with tons of English speaking channels. The convenience for the dive equipment was the most important for my husband. Totally perfect for divers. Tubs, hoses, great patio, hanging pegs and clotheslines. We have never had a more pleasant stay anywhere on the island. Quiet and tranquil. too. Louise was a dream to deal with and we thank her so much for turning our trip into one that we will always treasure. Next time HHH will be my one and only call. Thank you again for all your hospitality and we count the days till we meet again. karen, darin and tammy

We recently stayed at Happy Holiday Homes for our 3rd visit to Bonaire for windsurfing, relaxation by the cool ocean breezes and some fun times with friends. Louise was especially helpful in finding us a connection through Curacos that saved us from an 11-hour layover and another 400 miles of so sitting in a cramped airliner. As always, the accomodations were exceptionally clean, fresh linens provided every few days and enough kitchen supplies to keep the amateur chef busy. The only problem we encountered was that one of the batteries in the remote was placed in the wrong direction and that was resolved immediately. Normally I could have used the exercise getting up and down to change channels but was beat from sailing 4-5 hours every day. We are looking forward to another visit to Bonaire, hopefully next year before we move back to the west coast. Jon and Dora

We returned 3 months ago from our 12th visit to Bonaire to a life a bit more hurried than the one we left. Needless to say that is the reason for not being able to leave our comments until now. Still we think about our next visit on almost a daily basis. We found Happy Holiday Homes on the internet for our first stay and really had no idea what to expect. From the start we found Mel and Louise to be most accommodating and gracious to two people they did not know. We found the location of HHH on the island to be perfect for us - close enough to everything we needed and yet far enough away from the bustle of town so we could hear the sappos at night. The apartment was perfect for what we needed. It was clean and big and exceeded my expectations, and I am pretty hard to please - just ask my husband. Bonaire changes a bit each time we visit - and our visits have now gone from annual to semi-annual - but Louise, Mel, Kitty and now Evert are still the same generous, friendly, and accommodating hosts they have always been. We consider them friends - not something a lot of guests would say about their hotel hosts. Each time we return, we feel like we are coming home. It is another 3 months before we will return to Bonaire and some of us can hardly wait. Suffice it to say we highly recommend Happy Holiday Homes, as long as our favorite apartment stays available. We've been coming to Louise's place for 3 years now... we stay 5 weeks in Jan and Feb. We love the cleanliness of our cottage and how nicely and completely the unit is furnished. Louise, Mel, Kitty and Evert make us most welcomed. We wholeheartedly recommend Happy Holiday Homes! Tricia and Larry

We had a fabulous time in Bonaire for 8 days in early May, 2010. Thanks so much for the hospitality, and tips on where to go snorkeling, shopping, etc. The room was great. We saved so much by fixing our own meals. A plus was sitting on the front patio in the late afternoon/early evening relaxing, reading, having a drink, while watching the birds flittering around the trees and bushes, taking advantage of the flowers and the white "berries" that were on one of the trees. So nice to meet you both, and we hope to return in the future. Thanks again, Lynne and Chip

I love Happy Holiday Homes. I have stayed here twice in 10 years ( the latest was Sept 11-18th 2010), and if the following describes the way you travel, then this is exactly where you want to stay. If you are 1) the kind of person that likes to vacation diving/birdwatching/kite surfing with family and friends, 2) Seeking an extremely affordable quiet, clean, and simple home with a nice porch, AC in every bedroom, equipped kitchen, and the space to wash and hang your dive gear for the next adventure and 3) Would rather spare some opulence in order to stay a little longer on/near/under the sea, then Happy Holiday homes is for you. You get a nice living room with books, sat TV, and a big kitchen table. Rooms are simple with closets, accordian doors off the living room, and 2 twin beds each that can be pushed into a queen. Its located in Belnem south of the airport: a good location that is just far enough from town to be quiet, and close enough that a tank of gas lasts a whole week. Louise is great too, and will also book all your additional needs for you (truck waiting at the airport when you land, unlimited tanks for your stay, scooter rentals, etc.) all in an affordable package. We are talking somwhere in the range of $500 pp a week for everything divers need excluding groceries and flights (I'm assuming here that you are bringing some dive buddies along to share the additional rooms and actually confirm you saw that Moray the size of a drain pipe). While you can get all these things at Buddies, the Habitat, or Flamingo without even having to leave campus, it will cost you about 4 times as much. There were one or two things I would change at HHH though (but they are minor) : Wifi was a bit sketchy on the edge of the complex in the three bedroom #1 condo. I found that if I went outside and sat on the bench against Louise's wall, I got 4 bars. Additionally, If I had it to do over again, I would stop at the hardware store on the first day and get 2 or 3 small fans, one for the bath and a couple to keep the mosquitoes away on the porch. Oh, additional tip, NEVER shower with hot water here. You will find you love that 10 seconds of cold water that comes out at first, then the ground heated water feels like a bath (and this is with the hot tap sealed shut). Would I stay here again? I already have. Some additional tips for you first time Bonaire visitors: as of Sept 2010, Delta only flies in and out once on Saturdays from ATL. Most of the groceries are located on the same street, about 5 minutes away (north on the main road, right at the first round-about north of the airport). You will find most everything you need, and they take dollars too. Eating out: You know you will, but remember that almost everywhere you go will only serve lunch from 11 till 2. PERIOD. ( I think Buddies and Wanna Burger serve till 3). Dinner starts at 6. Your stay and patience will last far longer if you just go ahead and accept the fact that it will take 2 hours to eat with service, and getting bills. Work your dive schedules around that if you want to catch a meal out. If you are diving on the wildside (east side) and its NOT Sept or Oct, pay for a boat. Waves on shore are big, there are sea urchins everywhere near the beach, and the cuts and scraps that are still healing from the milder waves of Sept, should serve as warning. Plus, its a pretty long swim out to the reef. Instead of going shirtless and slathering on a gallon of sunscreen, just wear a rash guard. The sea life will thank you. Water Temp was 86 F in early Sept, you only need a dive skin or at most a shorty for those that stay cold. HHH is such a relaxing place to call home, Toward the end of the week, I stopped caring about checking email, news, etc. and let wifi lie. I even forgot what day it was for a while. These are milestones in the measure of a good vacation.
